A real highlight of my career was getting invited to be the auctioneer for the Michael J Fox Foundation fundraiser at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC; where I worked alongside Donny Deutsche.

A professional auctioneer is an essential part of any fundraising event. If you can round up a motivated audience; Steve can walk onto the stage, get your guests engaged and spending in no time at all! Auctioneering at benefit fundraisers every week over a span of nearly three decades has garnered Steve lots of experience and a great reputation for good entertainment and the ability to hit, then surpass fundraising targets.
Most of Steve's fundraising work takes place in the greater Portland area; though he has participated in star-studded galas that have taken him as far as New York. At srdorsey auctioneering, we do all types of fundraisers - from grassroots charities to big name galas.
A successful fundraiser or benefit auction takes up to a year to plan. Taking the necessary steps, helps to ensure a fun-filled evening for your guests and financial success for your organization! Steve will have an introductory meeting with you on his dime because he wants to ensure srdorsey auctioneering is a good, collaborative fit for your organization's event. Then and there, you can ask questions and he will explain your fee options based on a fixed flat rate or a percentage scale. Our fixed rates start as low as $1,500 for a grassroots start-up.

My first fundraiser since the pandemic shut everything down, it worked.
There really are some great venues for all kinds of events in Portland. I have been lucky enough to frequent many of these places and spaces. Ask me if you are on the hunt for a spot for your gathering and would like some ideas!

The Wild Salmon Center 25th Anniversary Gala took place in San Francisco at the iconic Palace Hotel. We raised nearly half a million dollars to help preserve and protect the historical waterways of wild salmon from Alaska all the way through to California.

The true test of a capable fundraising auctioneer is his ability to raise money above and beyond the live auction. Cash donations via special appeal also give corporations and individuals the chance to actively participate and to directly impact the communities in which they live.
