Auction dates available for 2010

If you're considering an auction for 2010, here are the remaining dates available; February 6th, 13th. March 20th, and 27th. Saturay April 3rd and May 22nd 29th. These are the days I'm available if you want a previous booked date, we can provide another auctioneer other than myself.

Montessori Earth School

My son and I finished up a wonderful night of raising money for his school. We raised enough to replace the aging fencing around the school, plus with parking a premium we sold the three best spots for $2100.00 each!

Fly Fishers of Oregon

I sold five of these spectacular etched bottles of Oregon wine for $250-$350.00 each with all the proceeds going to the Murtha Creek Project. The total raised was over $40,000 another record-breaking auction in 2009.

Selling away at Silver's, this nice 1949 Ford Woody Wagon sold for $60,000.

Rarest Camaro

I have alway wanted a Camaro, here is one of the rarest ones. It is a 1968 NIckey 1of 14 ever produced, they came equipped with a 427, 435hp engine, four-speed. If you could find one for sale it would cost you over $500,000 to park it in your garage.

Dress for Success

The big night is coming up Thursday, May 7th, at the Oregon Convention Center. Over 500 people will be on hand to bid on just nine auction items, and contribute to the special appeal.

The economic conditions is starting to hit the car guys hard. These two Lamborghini's were recently seized. If you want to own one you'll need between $125,000-$150,000.

Double Header Weekend

We just finished one of our three double auction weekends of the year. Friday we were at the Bossanova Ballroom for the Beverly Cleary School Auction, and we raised $4000.00 more than last year. Great support from all of the 200 parents in attendance. On Saturday night we did the Glencoe school auction, again we raised more money than was raised in 2008. Held at the 20th Century Bowling Center, it was the first time I have ever done an auction in a bowling alley. We're off for a couple of weeks for spring break, and back at again in April.

St. Thomas More Auction

We had another successful auction on Saturday March 7th, for St. Thomas More Catholic School. We raised over $200,000 in an action-packed evening which saw several item bring thousands more than they have in past years. Thanks for your support.

Commercial Association of Realtors Special Appeal

This past Thursday night we raised over $40,000 through the generous donations of the Commercial Realtors of Portland, over 300 attended the event at the Governor Hotel, to raise money for a new children center in Clackmas County. Great job.

West Linn Baseball auction.

We had another successful fundraiser this weekend. Over $60,000 was raised to improve the baseball fields in West Linn, Oregon. The surprise of the evening was three pairs of donated Blazers basketball shoes which brought a combined total of $2600.00, with Brandon Roy's fetching $1900.00 for his all-star Nikes.

Great night for Capitol Hill we raised over $50,000 for the school on Saturday February 21st, 2009.

The start of the 2009 Fundraising season

The 2009 Fundraising season started off with a bang, with Portland Center Stage auction being a huge success. We have Capitol Hill this weekend followed by the West Linn Baseball association. We will be raising money for new baseball turf on the ball fields. Also, I'm excited to announce that I'll be doing the Dove Lewis Animal Hospital Gala event this year. If you're a pet owner you'll want to come and support this great event in September.

Welcome to the 2009 auction season

Everyone is concerned about how the fundraising auctions are doing with all this bad economic news. Well, not too bad. While some of the overall grosses of the auctions have been down the special appeals, or paddle raisers have been stronger than last year. Patrons are still supporting their favorite non-profits but seem to be ready to donate specific amounts, as opposed to spending wildly on auction items.

The other night while finishing up a fundraising event a patron came up to me and told me she had never seen so much money raised in such a short amount of time. And she was right. Finally six auctions of the year.

What a year. While, we all know that the economy is in a process of readjustment the fundraisers continue to be well supported. Heading into the final auctions of the year attendance has remained the same from last year and the financial support has remained unchanged from last year. I look forward to working with all of you again in 2009.

John will be back with me also in 2009, he is an unbelievable talent. You really won't find a better auctioneer, and along with his son Johnath makes a dynamic auctioneering team. If you hire John you have to hire Johnath too. Well worth the investment.
